An exciting job opportunity has arisen for a Power Electronics Design Engineer to join a well-established electronics design consultancy, based in the Newcastle area. They are a market leading steadily growing business within the automotive industry who design and develop power electronics and power control modules and accessories for a range of electric and hybrid vehicles.
My client is at the forefront of the electric and hybrid vehicle industry and due to a boom in the renewable energy and clean fuel market are now looking for engineers with solid experience or strong academic background in power electronics design and development. Due to release of multiple jobs, they will consider applications at graduate to senior/principal level.
Within the Power Electronics Engineer job you will design and develop various power electronic or motor control applications from concept to production and work as a part of a cross functional team with Senior Power Electronics Engineers, Software, Mechanical and Production Engineers as well as QA and logistics.
To be considered for the job of a Power Electronics Engineer you will have experience or a qualification in:
-Power electronics design at a minimum 1kW power level,
-Prototype motor control or SMPS (switch-mode power supply) design and building,
-Electronics testing, including EMC testing and heat transfer testing.
