Essential Skills/Responsibilities-
* Analyse, identify and scope the testing areas to be undertaken by Performance from initial specification, including non functional requirements.
* Production of Performance estimates detailing the scope and time required for Performance testing.
* Perform test lead duties throughout the Development Life Cycle providing governance and auditing capability.
* Production of low level Test Plan & Test Approach Documents, including Test Exit Reports.
* Prepare and automate appropriate Performance Test Scripts and Scenarios to validate the test areas identified and document in Quality Centre.
* Execution of Test Scenarios and validation of expected results, raising defects as needed.
* Analysis, assist with problem determination and resolution of defects.
* Production of supporting documentation for test progress and summary.
* Maintain and improve information and analysis procedures, techniques and tools that support the Team.
Hands on testing of multi-platform infrastructure -
* Minimum of 5 years working in a performance testing role
* Evidence of end to end performance testing for; infrastructure/test and tune, volume, peak, soak and stress/breakpoint.
* Experience of multiple full end to end project deliveries i.e. initial technical document reviews and validation of non-functional requirements, definition of scope, scripting, test execution, analysis and reporting
* Scripting, executing and analysing utilising multiple protocols to test applications across multi-tiered infrastructure.
* Use of testing tools and consoles -
o LoadRunner - Protocols Web/HTTP, Web Services, MQ
o HP Quality Center / ALM
* Be pro-active and be able to work autonomously as part of a team and on an individual basis.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills
Use of testing tools and consoles -
* Hands on performance testing of multi-platform infrastructure utilising Load Runner -
o Mid-range platforms; UNIX and WINTEL
o Presentation layer servers; HTTP Web Servers
o Application layer servers; WAS Servers
o Database layer servers; Windows SQL Server, Oracle, DB2
o Transport layer mechanisms; MQ, TCP/IP, FTP, SOAP
