Technical Sales Representative - Life Sciences/ Biotechnology - South West UK and Midlands Salary: ??20,000 - ??30,000 (DOE) + ??7,000 Uncapped Commission Scheme + Company Car (Expensed) + 3% Pension Scheme + Healthcare + Mobile Phone + Laptop + IPad + 26 Days Holiday Based: Midlands or South West UK (You could be based in either: Bath, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Leicester, Nottingham, Oxford, Reading, Southampton or Warwick) The Requirements: As the Technical Sales Representative you will ideally have previous Sales experience within any industry/sector and will have a Life Sciences degree, this could include subjects such as: Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biology or Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific subject such as: Immunohistochemistry, Gene expression or Functional Genomics in order to be technically sufficient as the Territory Sales Manager You could also be a recent Life Sciences graduate looking to make a move into a Sales role and you will ideally have experience within the Laboratory working with products such as: Laboratory Equipment or Consumables/ reagents, PCR, Laboratory kits, Laboratory Water, Water Purification, DNA/RNA, Centrifuges, Freezers, Incubators, Safety Cabinets or Autoclaves within the Technical Sales Representative role My client requires that the successful candidate possesses excellent communication and organisational skills, you must be a real self starter and have the ability to be autonomous as the Technical Sales Representative You must be living and based on the territory right now and you will need to hold a full UK drivers licence in order to be successful within the Technical Sales Representative role The Responsibilities: Covering a well established territory you will be managing a strong portfolio of existing accounts and developing on new business leads to include: Biotech and Academia The role involves making appointments and visiting: Lab Managers, Purchasing Heads and Scientists/ PhD Students in laboratories and universities to sell a range of market-trusted laboratory equipment/ consumables On a weekly basis you will be travelling to Oxford one day per week and then working with customers in the Midlands another day and the rest of the time will be spent in between these areas as well as completing necessary administrative tasks from home Products you will be selling include: PCR, CDNA, DNA Markers, Real-time PCR, Rapid Genomic DNA Extraction, as well as other Life Sciences Kits, Services and Reagents Plan/carry out/support local marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organised marketing activities, e.g: mini exhibitions, product launches, promotions, advertising, and telemarketing The Company and Opportunity: My client offers a range of ISO certified best-in-class kits and reagents for PCR and related technology.
