Cash Accountant; Based in Portsmouth; 11 months duration; GBP275 limited per day.
Our client based in Portsmouth, has a vacancy for a temporary Cash Accountant.
The Cash Accountant will lead the Accounts Payable and Receivable function for 2 of our clients entities. Supported by a team of three, the Cash Accountant is responsible for the management of all purchase and sales ledger activities, including invoice generation (sales) and processing (purchases), payment runs, cash allocation and cash forecasting.
Following the implementation of a new ERP system within the business, the Cash Accountant role is vital to ensure there is integrity within the accounting entries associated with the purchase and sales ledger activities as the organisation embeds the new system.
Key Responsibilities:
Line management of Accounts Payable and Receivable staff
Cash forecasting, including FX management
Active management of the Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt account, working across the business to fix any discrepancies at source
Aged creditor analysis and management of supplier payment runs (and associated approvals)
Aged debtor analysis
Reporting and control of all intercompany balance
Embed a controls framework across the Purchase to Pay and Order to Cash processes, ensuring everybody understands their role and implications of their actions
Key Skills:
Able to demonstrate strict attention to detail
Adept in communicating with non-financial managers
Self-starter / able to work with limited guidance
Team-player with ability to achieve results through shared initiatives
Robust character with the ability to work under pressure
Diligent and dependable with strong integrity
A competent and pro-active advisor who is able to identify where financial processes, controls and procedures can be adapted to add value to the business.
Key experience
Qualified Accountant
Recent line management experience
3+ years??EUR experience in similar finance role desirable
Experience in designing/re-engineering finance processes
Proven experience of managing a number of deliverables to tight deadlines
Good understanding of process management, including documentation, design and measurement Experience of working in an intercompany environment
Knowledge of SAP essential
