The organization is a registered charity that has been providing care, support and advice for over 30 years to vulnerable people across Hampshire and Dorset, giving them the tools and resources they need to live independent, secure and valued lives.

The Role
The overall purpose of this role is to work with families to minimise and prevent children entering care due to incidents of domestic violence and abuse. The skilled and experienced post holder will be dual located, primarily working as part of a multi agency team, the Family Intervention Team (FIT) sat within social care. The post holder will retain links with their local DVA team and receive specialist supervision with their service manager.

This is an exciting and innovative post which could be ideal for a newly qualified social worker to build and develop skills and knowledge or for an experienced domestic abuse worker who wishes to gain knowledge regarding working in the statutory sector.

About You
We are looking for a skilled and reflective practitioner who has the skills, knowledge and experience to meet the specifications below:
* Experienced at working in partnership.
* Experienced at supporting women, men and children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse (victims and perpetrators), either 1:1 or group work basis.
* Skilled at sharing knowledge and information within the team.
* Skilled at working on my own and able to organise my daily tasks effectively.
* Skilled at motivating others to move through action and decision making processes.
* Working with clients and colleagues to identify levels of risk as per structured assessments.
* Working with clients who are at high risk of homelessness, child protection and/or may be subject to legal proceedings.
* Ability to develop individual safety plans that may form part of a wider family safety plan
* Skilled at completing DASH RIC and refer to MARAC through the area DVA SPOC team.
* Able to identify and deliver effective interventions to the non-abuse partner and, where appropriate their children, to increase safety and reduce risk.
* Able to plan, develop and deliver interventions designed to meet identified needs and agreed goals.
* Able to provide 1:1 support to enable the client to understand the impact of DVA on themselves, their parenting and their children.
* Able to deliver 1:1 support for young people to help them comes to terms with their experiences of DVA - whether as client or instigator.
* Able to deliver sessions with clients using skills of cognitive behavioural theory and motivational interviewing.
* As part of a 'whole family' approach, addressing the underlying behaviours and issues linked to perpetrators (where it's appropriate), with particular links to the rest of the FIT.

Essential Requirements
The ideal Family Intervention Team Worker will need to be available for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. The ideal Family Intervention Team Worker will be required to be a car driver with willingness to work across designated areas and to travel beyond occasionally for meetings and training.
