Head of Delivery - Business Change

A fantastic opportunity has become available in Edinburgh to work with a well known and reputable financial service organisation to join the Business Change Division as the Head of Delivery.

The Head of Delivery will be responsible for shaping and leading the safe and optimal delivery of the Bank's Change portfolio; building Change Delivery capability, continuous development of the Bank's approach to Change delivery, and providing support and assurance across all projects.

The key accountabilities are;

  • Work collaboratively with Business Change Leadership and Bank Leadership teams to effectively shape the delivery of the Change portfolio
  • Provide direction to Sponsors and Project Managers to shape projects to ensure that there is clear agreement on the required outcomes to be achieved, the associated business impacts and that the project is appropriately set-up for success and delivery within the organisations risk appetite.
  • Accountable for end to end delivery of projects; lead the delivery of the Bank Change Portfolio through effective delivery support and assurance of all projects underpinned by effective management of Portfolio and Project level delivery risks, dependencies and issue resolution
  • Drive effective Delivery resource assignment and utilisation to ensure optimal productivity, cost efficiency and colleague development
  • Develop and drive effective management and performance of 3rd parties required to deliver the Change Portfolio.
  • Ensure the all projects have effective resource utilisation and realistic plans & estimates in place to manage the Customer & Colleague impacts of change.
  • Effective identification and management of inter project dependencies
  • Drive development of the Bank's approach to Change Delivery by building a culture of continuous improvement, shared learning, and collaboration.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and maintain external networks for the purpose of identifying best practice, continuous improvement, and to build the profile and capability of the Change capability across the Bank.
  • Provide strong, visible leadership across the Bank to help deliver a positive, open culture where high quality colleagues can deliver to their full potential, promoting and aligning the objectives, aims and outcomes of Business Change with other senior managers across the organisation.
  • Lead, develop and coach the Delivery team to support the achievement of Business Change objectives and the Bank strategy.

What we need from you;

  • Extensive experience operating in senior positions within Change Management
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrable proven experience of directing and delivering complex change projects/programmes/portfolios to successfully achieve their stated outcomes.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing project/programmes/portfolios balancing multiple commercial drivers and 3rd parties within an outsourced BPO environment
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering Change within a financial services organisation and an in-depth understanding of the interdependencies with other functions/departments.
  • Demonstrable experience in advanced stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and conflict management skills including a proven ability to influence at a Senior Management and Executive level
  • Strong awareness of the control environment within a financial services organisation
  • Strong awareness and understanding of all Outsourced regulatory requirements in relation to SYSC8 with particular focus on conduct risk
  • Demonstrates competence in all key areas of management and leadership - communication, motivation/delegation, financial planning and control, quality management, risk analysis and delivery.
  • Expert knowledge and proven experience of Change Management across Projects, Programmes, and Portfolios including: Shaping complex change, Outcomes (benefits) Management, Stakeholder Management, 3rd Party Management, Planning, Governance, Reporting & MI, Risk Management, Estimating, Resource Management, Testing, and Business Readiness and Communication
  • Creativity and drive. Ability to think outside normal boundaries, manage conflicts and prioritise activities according to business needs. Ability to delegate delivery according to departmental accountabilities.
