We are looking for a talented Senior Test Engineer to join our Electronic Trading Team based from our Halifax office. 

What being the Senior Test Engineer with SSP will involve: 

This position requires a self-motivated individual who can collaborate in a fast-paced environment despite incomplete specifications and minimal direct supervision. You will have the ability to manage a small test team, managing workloads, setting priorities, providing guidance, training, and advice. You may be required to undertake some management responsibilities. This will involve providing leadership, and functional guidance and direction to individuals. Your focus will be on mentoring and developing them to achieve their maximum potential. You must have strong experience of test automation using Selenium or Soap UI with C# or Java within Agile and waterfall environments. You must have experience of working with Waterfall, V-model and Agile testing methodologies – BDD, TDD, Exploratory Testing etc. and an in depth knowledge of software testing procedures. You must have strong technical testing experience, with the ability to create complete test automation frameworks using open source technologies. It would be advantageous for you to have experience of using any Continuous Integration tools (e.g. Jenkins) and version control solutions (TFS preferred).

Based from our Halifax offices, there may be travel across the UK with ad hoc requirements to undertake international travel. 

What experience we look for from you: 

- Testing both manual and automation. For automation, experience with Selenium, SOAPUI and jMeter 
- Practical experience of working in a QA/Testing environment with an aptitude for analysing customer requirements 
- Proficiency in web technologies and programming languages, with particular skills in C#, .NET, Java Script, XML 
- Experience in creating test automation frameworks 
- Version control (e.g. TFS) 
- Continuous Integration (e.g. Jenkins) 
- ISEB Intermediate or ISTQB Advanced are highly desirable 
- Relevant Insurance industry knowledge, Insurer/Broker/Underwriter (preferably for both Commercial and Personal Lines) or IT Financial systems experience would be an advantage 
- Must be willing and able to undertake international travel if required
