EBD Cover Supervisor

Randstad Education is recruiting SEND support staff to accommodate for an influx of both day to day and long term requirements for a pupil referral unit in Birmingham.

Randstad Education works with a variety of SEND settings in sourcing candidates for day to day, long term and permanent placements. We are recruiting a resilient and proactive teaching assistant or cover supervisor to work with children and young people, many of whom have severe emotional behavioural difficulties, and have been excluded from mainstream education.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in being able to effectively manage challenging behaviour either in a mainstream or SEND setting within a primary or secondary school and demonstrate effective ways of managing behaviour and working with pupils to raise their attainment.

Successful SEND support staff must be:

• Qualified with a level three childcare related qualification
• Experienced in working with challenging behaviour, ideally within a PRU
• Resilient and able to overcome difficult situations
• Confident interacting with a wide range of personalities
• Able to work independently and confidently with children and young people of all ages
• Able to use their initiative and take on additional responsibilities as and when necessary
• Reliable and able to commit to between 1-5 days' work per week
• A personable and caring individual who is committed to providing excellence to children in their care
