Job Title: Production Technicians - Temporary Contracts

Our client builds and sells best-in-class screen printers and placement machines for electronics manufacturing plants worldwide. Their industry-leading machines deliver top performance in terms of speed, flexibility and accuracy.

The company are currently recruiting for Production Technicians on Temporary Contracts, to support an increase in customer orders.

Job Role:

The purpose of these roles is to provide support to assemble, test and QC of machine build in order to maximise customer satisfaction and on time delivery. There will also be a requirement to develop and perform diagnostics or fault finding on a variety of printing machines, and associated ancillaries; specifically relating to New Product Introduction (NPI). This is a full time opportunity with competitive rates of pay. There will also be opportunities to work overtime as and when required.

  • To examine/ analyse fault reports and other associated information/ documentation.
  • To liaise with Customer Support Engineers, other engineering functions to obtain information, on technical details relating to the specific faults at customer sites.
  • To provide coaching, in own areas of expertise, to other production operatives.
  • To record any additional defects detected during the general testing process. Recommend fixes to defects or liaise with relevant engineering function.
  • To maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • To undertake all aspects of electrical and mechanical build in accordance with local, departmental and company procedures as appropriate.
  • Data driven analysis of faults or problems.

The Candidate:

  • Qualified to level 2 NVQ or equivalent level (preferably in an engineering/ computing or science/ technical related discipline.
  • Possess previous experience working successfully in an engineering/ software environment, ideally undertaking testing responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge/ appreciation of engineering disciplines e.g. mechanical/ electrical & software.
  • Able to share own expertise and provide guidance and support to other team members.
  • Able to work under own initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively face to face and in writing with people at various levels in an organisation.
  • Able to achieve goals/ objectives as an individual and also preferably in a team environment.
