Data Warehouse Architect - Solution Architect - Business Intelligence - Teradata - Inmon
We are looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Architect to join a leading payment company. As part of this role you will work across a broad range of complex projects and BAU change. As Data Architect, you will drive and coordinate the activities around data mapping, modelling, analysis and defining target data architecture.
You will be responsible for designing and delivering a Data Warehouse Solution and MUST have strong Stakeholder management experience to translate technical jargon into business terms and business objectives and well as the ability to communicate technically to the Senior Designers. An ideal profile for this role would be a Consultancy background. Technology used is Inmon and Teradata so experience of both is required.
You will be building Logical Data Models and any Physical Datamodelling experience would be a bonus but not required. Production will be based on Teradata. Any experience of Cloud based Technologies in Analytics and Business Intelligence is highly desirable as is an understanding of Operational Database Design.
The key responsibilities are:
- Delivering the technology and architectural strategy focusing on data management, data science & the monetisation of company data.
- Identifying and highlighting key areas of complexity, duplication and areas of high risk or opportunity loss in the architecture context
- Improving the quality of engineering decisions across the company as they relate to data management priorities
- Defining and implementing policies and processes for data quality, data security and provenance
- Liaising between data consumer representatives and data solution development teams
- Acting as a catalyst and thought leader to identify, consolidate and syndicate architecture and engineering best practice
- Influencing and guiding data management decisions in a commercial context
- Following interpret and apply industry trends
- Experience in Cloud based technologies in Analytic tools
- Experience in Business Intelligence
The ideal candidate:
- Will be an excellent communicator and possess strong stakeholder management skills
- Have experience of working with offshore teams and 3rd party suppliers within a Matrix team, whilst being proficient with AGILE/Scrum methodologies.
- Have excellent knowledge of Analytics, Visualization and predictive tools.
- Have extensive Data Architecture and experience of working within a Matrix team.
- Be confident at Data Mapping, Datamodelling, Data Quality, Data Profiling, Integration and Messaging, Data Warehouses, Marts and experience of the analysis and design of Data Warehouse, BI, Data Analytics or complex Data Migration solutions
- Have experience of analysing and designing multiple aspects of the data solution including analysing source systems, designing ETL routines, resolving DQ issues, designing relational and dimensional models (conceptual and logical), developing the reporting or analytics layers
