Job Title: Production Operatives - Temporary Contracts
Location: Weymouth
Salary: Competitive
Our client builds and sells best-in-class screen printers and placement machines for electronics manufacturing plants worldwide. Their industry-leading machines deliver top performance in terms of speed, flexibility and accuracy.
They are currently recruiting for Production Operatives on Temporary Contracts, to support an increase in customer orders. This is a full time opportunity with competitive rates of pay. There will also be opportunities to work overtime as and when required.
Job Role:
- To undertake all aspects of electrical and mechanical build in accordance with local, departmental and company procedures as appropriate i.e. to incorporate quality standards and other key performance indicators. This will encompass the four build phases of Sub Assembly, Main Build, Configuration and Power Up.
- To inform the Material Handler of any shortages or material issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure all materials received and used comply with agreed quality standards.
- To assist the Materials Team with any inventory issues with in their section.
- Ensure that tasks are undertaken within agreed timescales.
- To produce and test assemblies in line with company procedures and standards and within agreed timescales
The Candidate:
- Must possess a can do attitude and maintain an enthusiastic nature.
- Must previous experience in a modern production environment associated with continuous improvement methods. Experience should encompass a working knowledge of JIT principles.
- Must possess a good level of secondary education with a minimum of GCSE or equivalent level qualifications (grade A-C) in both English Language and Maths.
- Must possess a basic level of keyboard skill; to include a basic working knowledge of Excel, Lotus Notes (or other email based system) and Glovia or (other ERP).
- Evidence of track record of working on own initiative, with minimal supervision.
- Able to achieve regular/routine tasks on time.
- Able to build stable and useful working relationships with both internal and external customers.
