Senior MS Dynamics NAV Developer / Architect, Based in Chester, Salary c£45-50k negotiable + excellent benefits

We are looking for a Senior NAV developer / Architect to join an in-house development team based in modern offices in Chester. This a fantastic time to join the business with lots of new exciting projects and significant growth planned.

A UK subsidiary of a global group who provide integrated business solutions for Fleet Services, Vehicle Remarketing and OEM Manufacturers. Their tools and technologies drive the business success of their customers and partners, and enhance the UK automotive marketplace. In the UK the remarketing solution splits into two broad categories, a white labelled solution providing bespoke services for OEM’s and a bespoke solution servicing Vendors who are not brand focused. 

Senior MS Dynamics NAV Developer / Architect Main responsibilities:

  • Full lifecycle application development (SDLC) and will involve working on new projects using a variety of technologies (focus will be on Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Navision) as well as the maintenance and support of existing applications.
  • Designing, coding and debugging applications in Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Navision
  • Uphold use of best practise design & code patterns
  • Investigate, analyse and document reported defects.
  • Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects.
  • Create, document, and implement unit test plans, scripts, and test harnesses.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates.
  • Integrate software with existing systems.
  • Evaluate, identify and select appropriate new technologies for implementation

Required skills / experience:

  • NAV developer experience in a commercial environment (versions 2013 r2 or later)
  • Excellent C/Side skills and knowledge of relevant best practise patterns for structuring code for readability & performance
  • Excellent understanding of core NAV modules
  • NAV performance tuning
  • Ability to interpret written requirements and technical specification documents.
  • Must be able to provide technical leadership
  • Integration with .NET WCF or RESTful services
