Learning Coach
BECT Computing
18.5 hours per week
Permanent, 40 weeks per year
We are one of the largest Further Education Colleges in the UK with more than 21,400 learners studying with us on a wide range of courses. Our mission is to equip people with the skills they need to be successful in education, in work and business and in their personal lives.
As a Learning Coach in Engineering, you will take responsibility for a caseload of learners predominantly aged between 16 and 18 supporting them to become independent learners through the development of their study and employability skills, preparing them to progress to positive destinations.
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to approach difficult issues in a calm and responsible manner. You will be able to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of individual learners, staff and guest speakers.
Experience of providing advice and guidance to young people is required along with a minimum Level 3 qualification in any subject. Level 2 qualifications in Numeracy and Literacy or equivalent are also required. IT literacy and experience of organising events would be an advantage:
