We are looking to recruit people with Charity Shop experience and knowledge to take forward our trading activities to achieve our 2020 vision which incorporates significant development of our valuable resources: staff, volunteers and properties; establishing online trading activities and increasing our interaction with local communities.

Each of our 20 charity shops across North Staffordshire are very different and unique, reflecting the town or village where they are located. Our shops are in the heart of the communities we serve; who also contribute towards the cost of the care we provide, both at the hospice in Blurton and in a patients' place of residence. Whilst we will continuously strive to develop our commercial strategy to be at the cutting edge of charity trading, we are keen to retain the local identity of each shop.

An Area Manager will provide practical support to a group of 10 Shops, working alongside the team of staff and volunteers on a daily basis acting as guide, coach and mentor to ensure everyone can be the best they can be.

Our people make the difference to all we achieve, and we have a great team. You could be part of this terrific element of the organisation, if you have the experience and skill sets. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of achieving outstanding results from working alongside a team, preferably within the charitable sector. Possess excellent interpersonal / communication skills; and demonstrate the ability to exercise a robust and consistent approach to people management.

This role is an integral part of the operational team, so a flexible attitude towards working days / hours is needed. An overriding passion for charity shop trading is likely to be a personal motivator to achieve within in this role along with a sales / target driven ‘streak'.

We are embarking on an exciting period of change and development in the business and this role will be pivotal in supporting many new initiatives. The ability to adapt to change will be essential, taking account of the important needs of a work force heavily reliant on the generosity of volunteers' time and commitment.
