Randstad Education is a market leader in the field of education recruitment, and here at the Chelmsford office we are working on behalf of a larger than average secondary school in the Southend area. The school is entering an exciting phase, having recently secured a dynamic new Headteacher, who is encouraging collaboration between the school and other Ofsted-graded Outstanding schools in the area.
The school is looking for a full time, permanent teacher of Science to start in April 2017. The ideal candidate will have:-
*a proven track record within general Science. A specialism is encouraged but Science as a whole up to Key Stage 4 is a must.
*ambition, drive and be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a clear understanding of teaching and learning.
*good behaviour management skills, strong subject knowledge and a passion for development of Science as a faculty, with the ability to identify where student underperformance must be addressed and recovered through careful personalised learning.
At the school, most students make good progress and achieve well, sometimes from below-average starting points. Exam results and attainment in English and Maths have been improving steadily. Teaching is expected to be Good and Outstanding across the school. The teachers use their skills and subject knowledge, paying careful attention to planning interesting lessons that aid learning in a step by step approach.
The Head, supported by her leadership team, take a strong lead in driving improvement. As a result, teaching and achievement consistently improve. There are many opportunities for CPD at the school, as one of the school's main focuses is to make more teaching Outstanding and tackle inconsistencies.
