Electronics Design Engineer
Optoelectronics R&D
Devon - GBP34,000 to GBP40,000
As an Electronics Design Engineer you will be required to design electronic circuits for the opto-electronics modules R&D team. This team develops modules for optical communication systems.
Role and Responsibilities:
+ Design of precision analogue electronic circuits, digital circuit design, microprocessors and power supplies
+ Schematic capture using CAD tools
+ Support ECAD in module pcb layout of small scale multi-layer pcbs
+ Design for EMC
+ Will join a product R&D team and contribute to the development of new components and modules for next generation optical transmission systems.
+ Work with both R&D design team to introduce robust module designs and own the electronic circuits
+ Will work closely with other members of the design team, including mechanical design engineers, ECAD engineers, optical engineers, process development engineers and the product qualification team
Skills and Experience:
Education/Qualification - Minimum:
+ Honours degree or equivalent in electronics or equivalent technical discipline
Skills/Competencies Essential:
+ Significant experience required of design of precision analogue electronic circuits, digital circuit design, microprocessors and power supplies
+ Experienced in using CAD tools, preferably PADS, to create schematics
+Familiar with module pcb layout of small scale multi-layer pcbs and use of chip scale and BGA packages
+ Understanding of design for EMC
