Team:

You will be joining the Endsleigh Finance Team at an exciting time as the business looks grow over the next few years. This is a dynamic team that has a focus on working closely with an ambitious organisation.

Role:

As an Assistant Accountant you will be providing technical and commercial accounting support across the business, supporting business key decision makers by identifying opportunities and threats to performance as well as taking ownership of ad-hoc Finance projects. Applying your commercial and technical expertise you will ensure effective operational delivery of individual, team and divisional objectives.

As part of your role you will be placed on the Finance Professional Development Programme and your accountabilities will depend upon the particular placement, however will cover one of more of the following areas at any one time.

- Expenditure control - including business partnering, forecasting and budgeting group expenditure, maintaining control work for expenditure.
- Central performance and planning - including production and reconciliation of monthly management accounts, consolidation and reconciliation of monthly forecasts and annual budgets.
- P&L reporting - including ensuring Endsleigh and subsidiary income is appropriately recognized in the financial statements, publishing and maintaining group expenditure reports in order to facilitate proper expenditure review against budget, challenging and signing off monthly expenditure for management accounts.
- Reconciliation and controls - including performing reconciliations between systems, taking ownership of month end routines, ensuring key controls are proactively maintained, accurately maintaining company fixed assets systems and company vehicle lease liabilities and records and reconcile to the general ledger.

Person:

You will need to be part qualified in CIMA or ACCA or hold another relevant entry level qualification with experience in an accounting environment and an advanced level of knowledge using Microsoft Excel. You will have excellent knowledge of legislation, regulation and accounting standards as well market, financial risk and business awareness.

With outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, you will have experience of developing customer relationships which will be built via networking. You will have the ability to solve problems by forward planning, having high attention to detail, making vital decisions and using your judgmental skills.

Within the role you will demonstrate and develop your leadership skills including managing resource, performance, and project management as well an ability to coach and develop others.
