Due to a huge influx in projects this year, I have a urgent need for a Junior Java Engineer in Somerset. The successful candidate will be expected to have a generalised understanding of Java, support will be giving throughout, You will be part of a growing team of developers so there will be plenty opportunity to learn new skills and enhance your development knowledge whilst working the job in hand.
This will include:
*Java 8
*Hadoop ecosystem (Oozie, Pig, Hive, Spark, HBase/Accumulo, etc.)
*OGR / GDAL
*NiFi (Niagara Files)
*Containerisation - Docker
*Continuous delivery - Ansible, Vagrant
*Cloud platforms
You will be expected to:
*Deliver high quality standards
*Run multiple tasks
*Creating software for desktop, software and mobile
*Working in an agile team, designing and crafting software solutions
*Share knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team, both developer and no developer
*Take part in the support of applications and platforms
We request:
*6 months experience in Java
*Key skills experience Level 3
*Ability to liaise with other members of staff including customers
*Willingness to learn new engineering skills in a working environment
