Finance Business Partner/Finance Analyst - Retail Banking

This role offers the exciting opportunity to become a value adding member of the Mortgages Business which has over GBP250bn assets and is a key driver of Retail/Group P&L.

This opportunity presents a candidate with an ideal opportunity to gain exposure to the Mortgage business and develop a deep understanding of the underlying drivers and dynamics of the Mortgage business.

The Mortgages Business Partnering team is responsible for:

• Supporting the production of forecasts/budgets through delivery of key input drivers behind volumes and margins
• Partnering the business to deliver successful performance against key objectives and targets
• Tracking and assessing trading performance against targets
• Governance and control surrounding pricing/proposals

Key accountabilities of the role are:

• Supporting the Senior Business Partner in delivering the team's objectives
• Utilise and develop appropriate Planning tools (TM1) in order to deliver Balance Sheet and P&L outputs, understanding the underpinning drivers
• Support governance around all Planning tools (TM1) developed helping to build credibility and reliance on tools
• Part of Planning team helping create a great team environment to work within
• Work closely with and building exceptionally strong relationships across a whole host of different teams including Product, Community Banks, Credit Risk and rest of Finance
• Continue to strive towards building more insight into the Risks and Opportunities to Balance Sheet and P&L
• Support the understanding of quarterly forecasts with clear explanation behind the drivers of performance

The successful applicant should have

• Strong delivery focus with a strong desire to deliver lasting and meaningful change into the business
• A high level of numeracy - good degree in a numerically orientated subject
• Preferably professional qualification eg MBA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA
• Strong analytical skill set with ability to shape and solve complex problems/the ability to think through complex issues
• Highly competent in Excel. Other tools eg VBA/Access are a bonus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to make the complex simple
• Experience of TM1 is highly desirable but not essential.
