Social Lettings Agency Manager

In Northampton, this council is committed to improving standards in the private rented sector, bringing empty homes back into use, preventing homelessness and making it easier for people to access private rented accommodation.

This innovative, in-house social lettings agency will operate like a private sector letting agent but also support their housing enforcement activity, increase the supply of affordable housing, remove barriers to the private rented sector and set a new benchmark for local letting agents.

They are now looking to recruit a private sector lettings specialist who has the business acumen, commercial awareness, drive and ambition to manage the social lettings agency and ensure that it hits its targets and realizes its full potential.

To meet the requirements of this exciting role, you must have extensive knowledge of letting agents' practices, the regulatory framework relating to residential lettings, and market rental values and trends. You must also be outcome focused, a clear thinker, a great motivator and a skilled and effective negotiator and problem solver.
