Our company's success can be attributed to our extensive knowledge and experience gained from working closely with our clients to deliver a range of cost-effective engineering solutions including the repair, refurbishment and maintenance of water company reservoirs, and associated assets along with the new construction of new assets to values up to £2m.

The day-to-day duties

We are looking to recruit a Project Manager with a civil engineering background to operate in the Thames Water and Affinity Water areas of operation however the ideal candidate will need to be flexible and occasionally manage work in the Anglian Water region.

The successful Project Manager will be an aspiring site/construction manager with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the field two of which must have been spent in a managerial role. The Project manager will be accustomed to delivering client projects in a highly collaborative and proactive manner to the agreed programme by working alongside the Commercial Manager ensuring that work is completed within clearly defined budgets and timescales.

Specific duties will include

  • Develop a realistic yet challenging cost budget with the Commercial Manager
  • Produce an accurate project programme using MS Project software
  • Conduct risk assessments and production of RAMS
  • Manage health, safety, welfare and environmental issues throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure works are delivered to very exacting quality standards
  • Perform Principal Contractor duties as defined in CDM 2015
  • Attend sites at pricing stage to agree scope of works and quantify with clients
  • Maintain excellent communication with the client and all team members throughout every project
  • Ensure the Company Management System (to ISO9000, ISO14000 & OHSAS18000) is followed by the team at all times
  • Requisition key labour, plant and material orders via the procurement team
  • Manage site supervisory staff, directly employed labour resources and approved sub-contractors
  • Compile all contract completion documentation.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:

  • At least 5 years' experience within a similar role
  • Proven experience delivering Civil Engineering projects
  • Experience within the Water industry is preferable
  • Currently a Certified Health and Safety member (NEBOSH)
  • Experience with working at heights and confined spaces
  • Good computer literacy, including MS Office
