This is an exciting opportunity within an international business. The successful candidate will be immersed in all areas of technology that fall under the responsibility of the IT department. Some training and support for this role will be given, however, initiative and self-learning is key. The opportunity to further your knowledge and develop through accreditations and training is encouraged.
The company is looking for an IT Administrator to join their team based in Bath, reporting to the IT Manager / Systems Analyst to be immersed in all areas of technology that fall under the responsibility of the IT department. Excellent communication skills, a willingness to learn, ability to use own initiative, troubleshoot and maintain a professional image are key to this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maximising availability of all systems
- Main point-of-contact for all IT/technology support queries.
- Communicating with users face to face, via telephone or the IT Helpdesk to solve issues.
- Administration and maintenance of all software and hardware systems, covering both infrastructure and desktops.
- Documenting systems, processes and solutions.
- Deliver training and induction to users
- Liaising with third party companies for escalation.
- Equipment procurement.
- Identify efficiencies or improvements that technology can bring to any area of the business.
- Project manage and implement new hardware, software and other solutions as needed.
- Identify trends and needs within the business and come up with ideas and possible solutions.
- Production of reports.
Key Requirements:
- Experience within an IT department supporting users onsite & remotely
- 1st - 3rd level support
- Knowledge of all type of hardware (desktops, servers, storage, UPS, switches, printers etc.)
- Backup Systems (preferably Symantec Backup Exec)
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Exchange 2010
- Windows Server 2008 on
- Microsoft Windows 10
- Microsoft Office 2013
- Good communication skills
- High degree of initiative to troubleshoot and solve technical issues
- A desire and ability to learn quickly
- Able to work well under pressure and capable of taking responsibility

- Software licensing management
- Web development (HTML/CSS/ASP/XML)
- Microsoft or other certification (e.g. MCP, MCTS)
