Tasks & accountabilities

A Craft Apprenticeship offers you the opportunity to acquire new skills whilst in employment. As an Aerostructures Craft Apprentice you will become a skilled aircraft fitter working on the drill off and assembly of both metallic and composite components to produce the wing box structure.
You will spend your first year completing Level 2 Foundation course, learning about engineering operations, whilst achieving a number of technical certificates and company required qualifications and will lead to the achievement if an NVQ Extended Diploma (Aeronautical Engineering) Level 3 and a National Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering.

Required skills

To apply, you must have minimum of:

  • 6 GCSEs at grade C or above including English Language, Maths and Double Science. If Science qualification was taken as single subjects, one of these must be Physics.
  • Alternatively you must have 4 GCSEs at grade C or above including English, Maths, Double Science and an Engineering BTEC.

Please note that you must also include a cover letter as part of your application for this programme which demonstrates your interest in aerospace and motivation to join the apprenticeship programme.
