Reporting to the Training Manager this role will support Gafta's training events programme by providing administrative support for all aspects of event management, including attending Gafta events both in the UK and overseas; and through developing and managing a digital media communications strategy.

This role involves some international travel to support Gafta events.

Job Description


Support the Training Manager in all aspects of training event and associated reception management, including:
Venue finding/liaison
Participant registration and confirmation
Speaker liaison, including organising travel and accommodation and training materials
Work with other Gafta staff to support the production of training event materials, including badge production, bulk photocopying, Gafta publications etc. and training course materials
Attend training events as required to provide 'on the ground' support
Post-event collation of data, including after each training course analysing feedback forms, and producing and distribution course certificates
Support the General Counsel in preparing his speaking materials and presentations for Gafta training courses
Monitor Gafta's impact through event registrations and online profile tools and provide relevant statistics for the Training Manager's regular report to the Gafta Council
Develop and manage a digital media communications strategy for Gafta
Ensure Gafta's presence on all relevant social media sites and use analytical tools to enhance Gafta's profile and presence on the web
Promote all Gafta events (training courses, seminars, conferences, dinners, roundtable events, GTAS events, etc.) through a variety of media
Liaise with the Head of Operations and Operations Manager to ensure that contact information of non-members attending events is shared, to promote uptake of Gafta membership.
Liaise with the Operations Manager to ensure that the Director General's requirements are provided for in attending training events.


Experience (Essential & Desirable)


Degree in advertising/marketing or events management or equivalent (D)
A minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience (E)
Experience of using a wide range of social media tools for business, for example Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, Twitter, Google+, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. (E)
Event management experience (E)
Experience in successfully gaining sponsorship for events (E)


Skills & Competencies


Excellent all round IT skills, including MS Office Suite
Proven ability to use social media to positively impact business
Ability to analyse and respond to web traffic statistics
Excellent all round administration, organisation skills and attention to detail
Excellent inter-personal skills, able to deal confidently and effectively with a wide range of people
Good team player, willing to work cooperatively to achieve organisational goals
