SureCare Residential provide short and long term residential services for young people aged from 11 - 18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties, in a therapeutic homely environment.  SureCare has now been established for 8 years and we currently have 3 homes and an independent school, which are all consistently rated Good with Ofsted.
Our aim is to support our young people to grow self-esteem, build positive relationships and trust, re-engage in education and look to build a brighter future for themselves.

We are currently recruiting for a new team of staff (Youth Workers, Senior Youth Workers x 2, Deputy Manager) to work within our newest residential home setting in Cambridge. As part of a small team, you will be working with young people to develop all aspects of their lives within a loving and caring environment. These new and exciting roles will be in our first “pathway planning” home where the purpose of the service is to support young people in a safe environment during a time where the young person's life may feel chaotic and unstructured, and where previous securities have broken down for them. This new service is based in the countryside of Essex (on the Cambridgeshire border), which we feel will work effectively as a location in supporting potentially very challenging young people.  The home will be assessing the young person's behaviour, ensuring they remain safe while the assessments and treatment plans are taking place.

We require that all of our potential staff are:

  • Experienced in working with young people who are challenged/present challenges
  • Creative, resilient and able to cope well within changeable environments (i.e emergency, short term and planned referrals and placements)
  • Passionate about developing our future generation
  • Dedicated and committed to empowering young people to achieve their full potential
  • Compassionate and reflective
  • Have the ability to remain calm and professional when a young person is in a crisis
  • Solution focused
  • Flexible and responsive in order to meet the needs of our young people which can change day to day
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Driving license preferred but not essential
  • No experience required, as full training will be provided

Responsibilities of Youth Worker:

  • Providing person centred support to young people with all aspects of their daily lives within a homely environment
  • Providing encouragement to all young people to work towards achieving their goals
  • Provide security and safety to young people
  • Build trusting and lasting relationships with young people

The position involves rotation shift work and an element of sleep in duties.

DUE TO OFSTED REGULATIONS, ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE 23 YEARS OR OLDER
