We are looking for a well organised individual to join the firm's audit and accounts department. You will need some previous experience of working in practice and to hit the ground running. Ideally, AAT qualified or part way through the qualification. However, all relevant experience will be considered.
The role will be varied, involving a mix of accounts preparation/tax as well as both internal and external audit work. The internal audit work generally consists of one day visits to not for profit clients to assess the effectiveness of internal controls. The successful candidate would be expected, subject to suitable training, to be able to undertake these visits alone, so confidence in dealing with clients is essential. The external audit work would be undertaken in conjunction with a more senior member of staff. Our client base for external audit is generally commutable, however, there are occasions where it will be necessary to stay away for work.
Key responsibilities include:
•Compilation of accounts for limited companies and sole traders
•Undertaking both external and internal audit visits
•Preparation of tax returns for individuals and companies
•Bookkeeping and VAT returns
•Payroll
As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will work closely with the partners and will have the opportunity to shape their own role as the firm continues to grow. Salary dependent upon experience
