Job Title: Vehicle Project Engineer
Experience: MHEV and PHEV vehicles
Location: Warwickshire, West Midlands
Rate: From GBP19.00 to GBP21.19 per hour Ltd Co.
Hours: 40 per week
The Role:
*Project Engineers within Vehicle Engineering support the delivery of two functions: Targets and Sign-Off (T&SO) and Test & Development (T&D)
*The T&D deliverables support the definition and managing of the Vehicle Engineering Fleet that services the requirements of all COC and Attribute areas
*The T&SO deliverables support and guide the Engineering sign off of the vehicle to meet its targets and deliver the correct mix of attributes for the customer
*This role would suit a self-starter, wanting exposure to whole vehicle engineering with a passion for the product
*This role interacts with CoCs (Centres of Competence) and Attribute Teams
Key Responsibilities:
*Assist with the planning of prototype vehicles and the generation of fleet development plans
*Support Build and sign off vehicles at the end of the line
*Assist with the management of the Engineering Fleet day by day
*Ensure Attribute Demonstrator Vehicles are kept up to date with latest content
*Work closely with workshop facilities to resolve vehicle off road (VOR) issues
*Prepare weekly vehicle metrics for presentation to senior management
*Organisation of driven and non-driven attribute demonstrations to Vehicle Evaluation Team (VET) and senior management
*Assist the Engineering Targets and Sign-Off for the vehicle line
*This includes preparing presentation packs for use at Technical Issues meetings and other reporting forums
*Assisting with the resolution of vehicle design issues
*Ensure Design Verification Plans (DVPs) are created and completed on-time and help drive issues to successful conclusion
Skills Required:
3 Key Skills:
- Familiarity with some PD IT systems (i.e. Fleet Management System, AIMS, RMDV). Knowledge of PCS
- Ability to create vehicle plans and specify vehicles based on customer requirements. Experience with development of multiple vehicle from one platform architecture
- Experience working cross functionally and co-ordinating the technical resolution to complex problems preferred. Experience of developing mainstream vehicle concepts. Experience with MHEV and PHEV vehicles
Experience Required:
*A 'can do' attitude with a willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience
*Excellent communication skills
*High level of drive and personal organisation
*Working knowledge of the company programme & project delivery processes, PCS & TCDS
*A good knowledge of vehicles
*Demonstrate good problem solving techniques
*Degree qualified Engineering Degree
