Thorn Baker are recruiting for a Finance Manager based in Chesterfield.
The Role
To lead and manage the Accounts department in the achievement of timely and accurate Company finance management information. The role involves stakeholder management, budgeting, forecasting and monitoring current spend, identifying savings, risks and efficiencies and ensuring management information and reports are delivered to time.
Skills
- To have worked at Finance Manager / Financial Accountant level previously.
- To be either ACCA / ACA / CIMA Qualified
- To be confident in the maintaining and development of systems and processes.
- Must be able to establish and maintain credible relationships with all levels of staff and management. A professional, down to earth approach is required along with excellent verbal and written skills.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- To produce monthly management accounts in an accurate and timely manner.
- Leading and developing a small Accounts team.
- Management of management accounting, analysis and commercial analysis.
- Management of financial, management and statutory accounting.
- Managing financial operations including AP and AR.
- To maintain the general ledger including all controls and reconciliation's.
- To oversee the day to day operation of the accounts department.
- Posting of monthly payroll reconciliation.
Personal Attributes
- Good business knowledge with preferably some retail knowledge.
- IT literate with excellent skills using accounts packages and spreadsheets.
- Good technical accounting skills to AAT standard or above.
- Experience of managing a team.
- Attentive to detail, the ability to maintain quality and standards, self-disciplined, logical, systematic, flexible, mature, exercises discretion, and has a desire to undertake a variety of tasks. Needs to be able to train and motivate to own high standards.

- Experience of Microsoft Navision is beneficial
