Position: Senior Database Administrator
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Salary: circa GBP40k per annum

About the role:

Working as part of a small team, the SQL Server DBA will work on the full development and management lifecycle of critical information needs across the organisation. You'll be responsible for the maintenance and security of all their databases, delivering optimum availability, security and performance within agreed service levels.

You'll manage workloads across reactive live support work, database administration, project development and proactive improvement work. You'll also design and develop SQL server databases and architecture to ensure these are available, maintainable and deliver acceptable performance. You'll act as the deputy for their DBA Manager, coaching and mentoring other team members and driving improvements through proactive and capacity management initiatives.

About you:

The successful candidate will need experience in SQL server 2008-2012 installation, and configuration, administration including security, replication and indexes. A high proficiency in transact-SQL including stored procedures triggers and functions along with back-ups, restores and recovery models is also essential.

Additionally will also have knowledge of SSIS especially ETL processes and SSRS. As you'll represent the team through technical leadership you'll also need exceptional communication, planning and organisational skills.
