The company is committed to being a leading provider of power solutions, including AC-DC power supplies and DC-DC converters. The Power Supplies designed are being used across various industries, at the moment a lot of the projects are within the medical industry; body scanners, premature baby incubators, operating theatre equipment, for example.
Role
- The Power Supply Design Engineer will be responsible for a product design from proposal through the design cycle to production and continue to support afterwards.
- They will be working closely across the multi-functional team -with mechanical engineers, guiding the PCB layout and mechanical design, and with engineers and technicians
- The Engineer will also oversee testing, including EMC, thermal and SVT, as well as costings.
Expertise
- Switch-Mode Power Supply Design experience
- Digital and Analogue Design experience
- Experience with LLC topology as well as broad knowledge/experience of other topologies is ideal
- Ideally have Full Design Cycle experience with product(s) released to manufacture.
- Experience of PFC circuits; EMC issues, how to prevent/resolve; thermals, transformer design; costings/budget; component selection.
- Digital Design experience is a desirable, and in particular, experience/good knowledge of dsPIC would be very useful but not essential.
