Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Leeds
Package - GBP30-35,000 plus car allowance, 25 days holiday and benefits
Company
This is a privately owned independent construction main contracting business who are looking to expand and grow their team further. They are involved in Commercial and Residential projects throughout the UK.
Role:
The current requirement is for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for their expanding Yorkshire region. You will have involvement in projects from pre-construction and bid through to assisting with all commercial activity during the construction phases until completion.
The ideal candidate will be an Assistant Surveyor with at least 2-4 years post-graduation experience, you should be comfortable taking the commercial lead on smaller schemes and have an excellent track record of profitable projects. Although office based, you will also be required to visit sites so must be prepared to travel when necessary.
You will play a key role in the commercial success of schemes including:
- Full Quantity Surveying skills including measurements, valuation, and agreement of work sections
- Submitting accurate detailed payment applications
- Identifying areas of overspend and waste
- Identifying and reviewing areas of commercial risk and opportunity
- Chasing payment certificates and outstanding payments
- Ensuring records are made and recorded to support any variations and claims
- Producing accurate internal reporting
- Optimise cash in and the net cash position
- Advise on commercial risks and opportunities within the project/s
- Negotiate with clients representatives and other consultants
- Advise Project Management on contractual implications of intended courses of action
Ideally you will be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying and working towards or holding RICS accreditation.
This is a permanent role with excellent career progression. Salary is to GBP35,000pa + excellent package. Package will depend on current experience and remuneration.
