Quantity Surveyor
Our client is a well-established Main Contractor based in Essex which is now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work in the North London Area.
The Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial support to the operations team; ensure compliance with commercial guidelines within the company, monitor and control cost and value and provide accurate reporting of financial aspects of the operational delivery.
Experience in the Social Housing refurbishment sector would be advantageous.
Main Responsibilities
- Preparation and timely submission and agreement of interim valuations.
- Re-measurement and valuation of variations, drawing revisions etc.
- Preparation and agreement of Final Account.
- Procurement of subcontract packages.
- Measurement and agreement of subcontractors accounts.
- Monitoring and control of costs/expenditure.
- Preparation of monthly cost value reconciliation reports.
- Attend subcontract pre-order meetings providing financial details and as advise as req'd
- Preparation and agreement of loss and expense claims.
- General correspondence on related matters
- Cash flow analysis for client and internal monitoring.
- Manage procurement process for subcontractors on allocated project.
- Monitor procurement against budget and report accordingly.
Person specifications
- Several years surveying experience, preferably with refurbishment and commercial base
- Ability to undertake re-measurement of work and valuation and pricing
- Be familiar with Standard Forms of Contract
- Have some experience of preparing loss and expense claims
- Ability to recognize commercial opportunities and take advantage
- Negotiation skills
- IT and literacy
- Driving license
- Min. qualification HNDv
