Our company client is a reputable FTSE listed insurance brand who are actively seeking to hire a dynamic and ambitious Financial Controller to work directly with the CFO and Deputy CFO and oversee the day to day management of the financial control and regulatory functions. The successful applicant will play an instrumental role within an entrepreneurial and acquisitive business, which will add valuable commercial experience and potential to his/her career.

Major duties for this position will include:

* Timely and accurate production of financial reports including; monthly board reports, financial performance packs, annual/quarterly PRA regulatory returns and statutory accounts (under UK GAAP and IFRS)
* Manage the implementation and continued development of Solvency II Pillar 3 reporting requirements including; QRTs, RSR, SFCR etc
* Lead and management of the Regulatory and Financial Reporting teams and Finance Systems and Operations teams
* Main point of contact with external auditors
* Undertake ad hoc financial projects at request of CFO or other members of Executive Management teams

Essential knowledge and qualifications required for this role:

* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with several years PQE
* Proven experience of IFRS accounting requirements in a non-life insurance capacity
* Experience of insurance industry regulatory environment including Solvency II
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and non-finance professionals
* Extensive PC skills and proficient in the use of Excel
