IT Service Transition Manager

Working from there head office in Emerson's green. The role is responsible for ensuring all services are smoothly transitioned into Operational support, in accordance with service acceptance criteria, utilising the service transition Framework (aligned with ITIL best practice).

Setting the standards for our service you will be the Guardian for all Change initiatives as they move into Operations.

Within IT this role will be responsible and accountable for:

- Service Architecture & Design for new or changes to existing services
- Service Transition Governance & Framework
- Service Readiness Validation & Acceptance into Operations

THE SPEC & REQUIREMENTS:

Service Architecture & Design:

- Represent Service Architecture on the Enterprise Architecture Board.
- Architect Operational Models for new & changed services.
- Contribute and approve all Solution Designs and form part of the Service Architecture Group.
- Work with the Demand Function to advise on any Business Opportunities & Feasibility Statements.
- Contribute to and advice on the overall IT Service Strategy by attending the IT Strategy Meetings.
- Provide ad hoc guidance & advice to Demand & Project Functions on the impact to service for any new business opportunities & requests.
- Manage and coordinate service transition activities on various "In and Out" sourcing initiatives.
- Provide consultation & advice on 3rd party contracts and service agreements for any new or updated services working closely with the Procurement Teams and 3rd party suppliers.
- Design, create and coordinate the implementation of new service support functions and procedures working with the business, IT and 3rd party suppliers.
- Work with Service Owners, SmEs and 3rd parties to create Service Descriptions for any new services to be included in the IT Service Catalogue.

Service Transition Governance & Framework:

- Execute & Maintain Service Transition Governance across all change initiates.
- Create and maintain the Service Transition Framework - constantly developing & improving standards and processes.
- Coordinate and support service transitions activities across programmes and projects working with programme and project managers, suppliers and service teams.
- Ensure new or changed services are smoothly transition into Operations to agreed service acceptance criteria (S.A.C).
- Provide clear and comprehensive Service Transition Governance Framework which is aligned with the IT Change Framework to ensure a consistent approach is applied to business IT change initiatives.
- Provide and maintain all Service Transition Templates (S.I.Ds, Service Descriptions, Support Briefs, Support Models) and Service Transition Guidelines, to enable step repeatable execution of the Service Transition Framework and publish within the Service Transition SharePoint Site.
- Provide guidance and assistance to Project Managers, Service Owners, SmEs and 3rd parties to create Service Introduction Document (S.I.D) and complete the Service Acceptance Checklists throughout the Project Lifecycle.
- Provide Service Transition Reporting (monthly, exception and warranty reporting period reporting).

Service Readiness Validation & Acceptance into Operations:

- Manage up stream (from Strategy /Design) all new or changes to existing services, identifying and managing any issues & risks as appropriate.
- Manage up stream key stakeholder expectations to define service acceptance criteria performance and ensure all parties are ready to accept and where appropriate support the new or changed service.
- Work closely with the IT Change & Release Management teams to align all service acceptance criteria with the IT Change and Release management procedures.
- Work closely with Demand, PMO and Project Teams to align Service Transition Framework with the IT Change Framework to ensure compliance through each checkpoint.
- Ensure all changes to service assets and configuration items are documented and stored in the Service Knowledge Management System (SKMS).

Technical Competencies:

- ISEB/EXIN ITIL V3 Foundation Certification
- ITIL Service Level Management Practitioner Certification
- Prince 2 - Foundation Certification (Advantageous)
- ACCA - Finance and Accounting for Non-Financial Managers (advantageous)
- CIPS - Level 2 Introductory Certificate in Purchasing and Supply (advantageous)
