LOCATION: York, North Yorkshire
JOB TITLE: Accounts Assistant
SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive salary dependent on experience plus company pension, free car parking, free eye test, flexitime and a friendly working environment
WORKING HOURS: Full Time - Monday to Friday

THE COMPANY: Our client is a well established, leading Chartered Accountancy firm with offices in Goole, Pontefract, York & Selby. With expert advisors across all aspects of accountancy they are specialists in dealing with a range of businesses and individual commissions.

Due to the continued success of the company, our client are now looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their expanding team at their office in York, North Yorkshire.

THE ROLE: An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join our clients Accountancy firm, based in York. The key purpose of this position is to assist and support the finance team with a range of accountancy and administrative duties on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities for the Accounts Assistant's role in York, North Yorkshire include:

- Preparing accounts within our clients growing specialist dental accountancy department
- Prepare and complete Tax Returns
- Work with other teams and to tight deadlines
- Attending specialist trade shows
- Act as support for the financial team and assist with range of administrative duties

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Accounts Assistant role must have relevant working experience within an accountancy practice or role. You must have strong bookkeeping, accountancy preparation skills, and sound working knowledge of preparing Tax Returns. You must have excellent written and spoken communication skills, and must have good IT skills with experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Although not essential any experience using Sage or candidates with an AAT qualification would be desirable.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Accounts Assistant's role in York, North Yorkshire :-

- Must have previous experience working in accountancy practice
- Strong numeracy, bookkeeping and accountancy preparation skills essential
- Must have good IT skills
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is essential
- Previous experience using Sage would be beneficial
