LOCATION: Tarleton, Preston


JOB TITLE: StudentSupport Officer (Attendance & CEIAG)


SALARY AND BENEFITS: Grade 5 GBP17,547 - GBP19,939 p.a. - (Pro Rata GBP15,254 - GBP17,334), plus access to a Local Government Pension Scheme and free on-site staff parking.


WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week, term time only plus 2 weeks


THE COMPANY: Our client is a multi-academy trust; they currently look after 560 pupils at their school in Tarleton, Preston and have solid and developing partnerships with a number of schools locally. With their forward thinking approach and commitment to education these are developing more rapidly.


THE ROLE: The StudentSupport Officer (Attendance & CEIAG) will be responsible for managing and overseeing all issues relating to attendance and CEIAG. To continuously improve attendance rates, reduce NEET occurrences and support students in securing Post 16 pathways.


Key Responsibilities of the Student Support Officer (Attendance & CEIAG) role to include:-
  • To be the first contact for all attendance/CEIAG issues in school
  • To help develop systems and strategies to improve attendance rates, post 16 destinations and to reduce NEET figures
  • To become an integral and pro-active member of the Student Services and Intervention teams and the wider school community
  • To support the development of outstanding provision for Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG)
  • To build positive working relationships in order to promote excellent attendance
  • To further raise aspirations within our school community with a particular focus on our pupil premium students

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the Student Support Officer (Attendance & CEIAG) position will have previous experience within a school setting. You should be an enthusiastic, driven team member with the ability to manage and oversee all issues relating to attendance and CEIAG.


Essential criteria for the Student Support Officer (Attendance & CEIAG) role:
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Ability to develop effective systems and structures
  • Experience within a school setting
  • Highly organised
  • Good ICT skills
  • Able to commute to Tarleton, Preston
