Pay: From £13.00 per hr week days / £14.00 per hr weekends with a premium for bank holidays.

Our client is an active 21-year old man who lives at home with his mum and younger brother. His interests include football, sailing, horse-riding and hand-biking, playing on his PS4 and listening to music. He is a big Chelsea fan and his love of football has seen him play for England C.P. He also helps coach football at a local U7's team.

As a support worker you will be sociable, adaptable, imaginative and creative. You will support our client alongside his family, his case manager, and his therapists including his neuropsychologist and speech therapist and you will be mindful of his neurological difficulties. You will be able to demonstrate experience working in a neuro-rehabilitation setting in the community or supporting young adults with neuro-impairment.

Due to a busy and sporty schedule, candidates must have good health and fitness*, they are essential for this role. You will also have a good grasp of IT to help assist to improve his online skills. Our client has very good sight and hearing and is able to drive his own vehicle but will, on occasion, choose not to, due to fatigue or lack of confidence.

From time to time, you will undertake domestic tasks such as helping our client to plan activities, manage budgets, clear up following kitchen tasks, tidy general areas following use and support him with domestic chores such as helping with his washing. It is essential that you are prepared to assist with these tasks to ensure the smooth running of the therapy programme, as well as offering his mum and therapists the opportunity to spend one-to-one time with him.

It is important that our client's family have the security of knowing he is in safe and reliable hands at all times.

Essential skills and experience:

- Experience of neuro-rehabilitation in a community setting and supporting our client to access the wider community
- Confident about working in the client's own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of the family
- Aptitude and desire to work with young people with complex needs
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality and privacy
- Physically fit* with the ability to bend, kneel, squat or lunge to ensure good posture during handling tasks
- Confident in water
- Patient and tolerant
- Able to work as part of a team
- Responsible attitude, honest, trustworthy and able to work under own initiative.
- Able to demonstrate planning, communication and social skills
- Ability to 'risk assess' activities
- To be organised with excellent timekeeping
- Able to demonstrate literacy, numeracy and IT ability/skills
- Sense of humour
- Full, clean, UK driving licence
- An Enhanced DBS
