Our Support Workers are the people our customers can rely on, the people who take the time to listen and always go the extra mile to help. So when you join us, you could find yourself providing a whole range of physical, domestic, emotional and social care as you take personal responsibility for a case-load of customers. You’ll help them to develop the all-important life skills that meet their assessed needs.

About the roles:

As a Learning Disabilities Support Worker, you’ll be using and building on your understanding of the day-to-day challenges faced by people with learning disabilities, particularly in the area of communication. Always patient, attentive and kind in the way you provide support and encouragement, you’ll also play your part in support planning, risk management and keeping records.

Bracknell Learning Support Service is a new accommodation based and visiting Support Service that is designed to provide support for customers with learning disabilities. One of the main objectives of this service is to help customers with learning disabilities gain independence, confidence and life skills to live active lives within their community.

As an organisation we work with service users who have an equally diverse range of needs, helping them to make their own choices, achieve their own goals and take control of their own lives. Right across London and the South East, we’re building on over 40 years of achievements and partnerships to take the lead in social care – providing high quality care, support and housing services we would be proud for our loved ones to receive.

We’re looking for passionate, dedicated people to join us at this exciting time. We need people who are committed to achieving excellence in everything they do - always asking ‘how could we do this better?’ People who believe in everyone’s potential and aspire to identify, nurture and develop it. People who understand that customers, colleagues, stakeholders and commissioners can work in partnership as one team to make positive changes to lives and communities. We seek people who can be trusted to do what they promise to do and speak up if something’s not right.

In particular, you’ll need the powers of empathy and resilience to show compassion, tolerance, sensitivity and enthusiasm both when things are going well and in times of difficulty and challenge.

If you can go the extra mile for your customers, you’ll go far yourself at Look Ahead. As well as highly attractive pay rates, you can expect comprehensive benefits including an excellent pension scheme, 25 days holiday, and a huge range of learning and career development opportunities.
