An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Development Engineer to join Corin based in Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

Corin is a global leader in orthopaedic innovation, specialising in the design, development and manufacture of a wide range of cutting edge artificial implant solutions for hip, knee and ankle replacement. Founded in Cirencester in the UK in 1985, our products are now distributed globally through subsidiaries in the USA, Australia, Japan, South Africa, Germany, Austria and Italy, as well as through an extensive distributor network across Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

This position is a post-NPI sustainment and development role with responsibility for the design optimisation and maintenance of existing commercialised implants & instrumentation for all Corin Group products.

As a Product Development Engineer your duties and responsibilities will be

  • Creation and maintenance of 3D and 2D CAD data.
  • Creation and maintenance of design and manufacturing documentation for instrument and implant devices.
  • Leading / participating in project core teams, liaising with QA, QC, RA, Manufacturing and Production Engineering as part of CAPA, continuous improvement and optimisation projects.
  • Critical review and updating of design history file (DHF) and risk management documentation.
  • Providing design and process support to Corin departments, sub-contractors and customers.
  • Producing test protocols and reports to support performance testing of Corin instrument and implant devices.

An ideal Product Development Engineer will have the following skills and experiences:

  • Advanced Apprenticeship, University degree, or equivalent experience in relevant subject such as Mechanical Engineering or Product Design and Development.
  • Competent CAD operator, experience of Siemens NX and / or Solid Edge would be an advantage.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Previous work experience in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and inspection methodology.
  • Knowledge of CAPA process and associated problem solving techniques.
