Our client is one of the largest suppliers of building materials in the UK with some of the most recognisable and renowned brands in the industry including London Brick and Thermalite. They employ around 1600 people at sites across the UK. They manufacture a wide range of products, including Bricks, Blocks, Paving and Precast Concrete as well as other more specialist products.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in Newbury in the position of Factory Operator.

The Role

• Optimising production output in a safe and effective manner.
• Operating section plant and equipment with effective communication.
• Maintaining section and site housekeeping standards.
• Participating in continuous improvement with regard to waste, Quality, plant breakdowns, testing and trials.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will require:

• Effective communication skills.
• A good basic understanding of health & Safety is essential.
• To comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation
• To update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training/development courses as and when required

Hours of Work

42 Hours per week. Continental shift pattern working a combination of 12-hour day and night shifts Monday to Sunday. Further information available on request.
