Quality Engineer
Location: Penrith, Cumbria
Salary: GBP40k plus 8% Bonus
A large global manufacturing company now require a Quality Engineer to join their factory in Cumbria.
Quality Engineer - Job Responsibilities and Tasks:
-Protect the customer by ensuring site adherence and development of the Product Quality Control Plan; Q&PC Step 0.
-To actively develop quality control and process control improvements across the site using the Q&PC Pillar methodology.
-Audit site compliance to procedures as defined within the Company Quality Management System.
-To actively work with the Workshop Performance Teams to improve the production performance KPI`s by focussing on the key areas of Customer Complaints, Process Stops and Off-Machine Yield Loss; Q&PC Step 1 to 5.
-Ensure product and process control changes are sustained; Q&PC Step 6.
-Take an active role in New Product Development projects.
-Cover for the SHEQ Manager in his absence.
-To undertake all tasks in an efficient and safe manner meeting within H&S legislation, company policy and Managers rules.
Quality Engineer - job requirements:
The ideal candidate must come from the manufacturing industry as a Quality Engineer. You will also have the following skills, qualifications and experience:
Ideally hold a recognised engineering qualification such as HNC, HND or BEng
Ideally certified or member of CQI or ASQ
Auditor trained, ideally Lead Auditor
Quality Engineer - Desirable skills:
-FI Tools Practitionr
-Kaizen Practitioner
-LEAN or Six Sigma experience
