Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for a Commercial Manager to join our team in Rochester. Working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Commercial Manager key responsibilities:
  • Assist in the management and compliant marketing and sale of all ferrous, non-ferrous and WEEE derived material produced within Viridor and 3rd parties.
  • Identify new products and business opportunities to enable the business to increase market potential.
  • Assist in developing new end markets and maintain a close liaison with both current and potential customers
  • Develop a good understanding of grades and the impact and importance of varying quality from different Viridor sites
  • Develop a strong and effective working relationship with the relevant Viridor sites.
  • Design, develop and provide a two-weekly dashboard on the metals market which communicates key trends and progress against budget
  • Produce monthly product management reports analysing and monitor current pricing against industry indices, purchase, sales, operational issues and competitor information
  • Learning and developing communication and commercial skills, gathering a deeper understanding of the recycling industry and wider associated issues.
  • Other management or development tasks as instructed by the Head of Trading

The ideal Commercial Manager:
  • Fast learning. Have the ability to adapt easily in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Ability to develop trading programmes in collaboration with the commercial team.
  • Good team player, with the ability to take the initiative when required.
  • Analysing reports and problem-solving.
  • Well organised and good communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels, inside and outside the company.
  • Drive to expand knowledge, skills and develop within the company
  • Degree (2:1 or higher)
  • A Full Driving Licence is essential to the role

In return for your hard work, you can expect to receive a salary of £36,000 - £42,000 per annum plus a range of benefits.
