Our client has an exciting opportunity, not to be missed! They are currently looking for a Stack Assembly Technician to join their team based in Sheffield. The successful candidate will join them on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary.

About the role

Our client is looking for an Electrolyser Stack Assembly Technician to join the team. For the role which is based in Sheffield you will be required to assemble and test electrolyser stacks from engineering drawings and will need knowledge and experience of working within a series manufacturing environment in an ISO 9001 accredited company.

What will you be doing as their Stack Assembly Technician?

Responsibilities will include:

- To pick and prepare stack components from stock for assembly of electrolyser stacks in accordance with works orders issued by the production MRP system

- To liaise with the Quality control department as the last inspection point for stack components.

- To build electrolyser stacks accurately

- To complete all stack builds in accordance with the production schedule to meet the company’s tight deadlines

- To conduct factory acceptance tests for electrolyser stacks and issue the relevant test reports. These include hydrostatic pressure tests and functional tests

- To build and test prototype stacks as part of internal R&D programmes

- Run/operate ultra-sonic de-greasing baths alongside other cleaning methods for all duties

- To support the day to day operation of an electrolyser stack test lab

- Support other business units as and when required

What they’re looking for in their Stack Assembly Technician

The successful candidate will be driven, pragmatic and able to work without supervision but be able to seek support and advice when necessary. Training will be given in Company specific procedures.

Good employment references and relevant work experience are essential.

Essential Experience & Qualifications of their Stack Assembly Technician

- Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing/production environment as an assembly technician or similar role.

- Previous experience working on assembly of products using components with very fine tolerances.

- Able to demonstrate experience of safe working practices in a manufacturing, laboratory or workshop environment

Desirable Experience:

- NVQ or HNC on a subject relevant to a manufacturing environment

- Familiarity with MRP systems such as SAP or Factory Master

- Good computer skills, in particular MS Word and Excel

- Knowledge of electrical, electronic and power devices

- Experience working with high pressure gas and hydraulics systems

- Experience of working in clean room (Semiconductor/Pharmaceutical/Food)

- Attention to detail

- Drive and determination to get the job done
