JOB TITLE: Site Manager

SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP20,456 - GBP22,434 per annum depending on skills / experience

WORKING HOURS: 37 per week 08:00 - 17:30 Mon - Fri (17:00 Thurs)
2 hour lunch break (11:00 - 13:00)

THE COMPANY: Our client is a successful community primary school based in Milton Keynes that caters for pupils from 3 to 11 years old.

THE ROLE: This role includes the maintenance and security of the school premises and site to ensure a safe environment for all stakeholders and the supervision of other premises staff.

Key Responsibilities of a Site Manager to include:-

• Act as a designated key holder and be responsible for the school premises and be responsible for the routine and non-routine (emergency) opening and closing of the premises. To report trespass, theft or unauthorised parking of vehicles to appropriate person.
• Ensure that buildings and the site are secure, including during out of school hours and taking remedial action if required including arranging emergency repairs.
• Regular supervisory responsibility for work of other premises staff which may include line management responsibility.
• Contribute to the management of the premises budget and procure quotes for routine maintenance work on school premises.
• Oversee onsite maintenance contractors, checking that work is completed to required standards and within required timescales.
• Operate and regularly check systems such as heating, cooling, lighting and security (including CCTV and alarms.
• Ensure the operation and maintenance of specialised equipment following training for example swimming pools and sports/theatrical equipment.
• Undertake minor repairs to site, furniture and fittings (ie not requiring a craftsperson) and maintenance of the buildings and site which may include handling small amounts of cash for the purchase of materials to carry out repairs

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role or environment. The successful applicant will act as a positive role model for pupils. Our client is looking for someone who always has a smile on their face, who's a team player and is proactive in their approach to their working day. As Site Manager, flexibility is key to the success of this position.

Key experience essential for the role of Site Manager based in Milton Keynes:

• Must live within 10 miles of Milton Keynes due to 'Key Holder' duties
• Will have extensive hands-on experience of a wide range of maintenance
/ janitorial functions.
• Evidence of trades certification etc may have particular relevance for some schools
• Experience of direct staff management and management of third-party contractors is desirable.
