Role Title: Specialist Noise Advice and Control Officer
Location: London
Pay Rate: GBP208pd
Our client a large Local Authority based in London are looking for a Specialist Noise and control officer. This is a contract opportunity however for the right individual we can offer long term the probability of long term extensions.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide specialist advice to members of the public, attending public events where necessary.
- Understand and where appropriate the Harm Based approach to managing cases and take account of it accordingly.
- Identify cases assessed using the above approach as High Risk and deal with them according to current procedures.
- Hold a case load of noise cases, those normally requiring specialist noise related knowledge and experience, such as relating to commercial premises.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues from a diverse range of partner agencies generating confidence and respect and successful partnerships.
- Proven influencing and negotiating skills so as to work collaboratively but ensure partnership goals are achieved and barriers effectively overcome.
- Ability to support immediate colleagues and wider team members in achieving the goals of the service.
- Broad and effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Support colleagues from other departments and agencies, work collaboratively with them but if necessary be able to constructively challenge.
Skills and Knowledge
- Relevant experience of working within the crime and disorder or regulatory service field.
- Expert knowledge and experience of the complete range of technical aspects of noise pollution and nuisance control and related legislative and regulatory framework.
- Possess an IoA Diploma in Acoustics or other relevant qualification in acoustics or noise control.
- Ability to provide a problem solving approach to resolve matters
