A Manufacturing Giant is on the hunt for a highly experienced Graphic Designer to support the growing business with inspirational graphic design ideas to communicate the brand through both online and offline marketing channels, from concept through to final artwork, production and delivery.
The Role:
The role of the Graphic Designer will incorporate the following responsibilities:
General
• Act as a guardian for the Manufacturing brand
• Work with the Marketing Manager and the marketing and ecommerce teams to design and produce best practice marketing materials.
• Source and liaise with printers and other suppliers to ensure the best price and finish for marketing collateral
Design
• Consumer catalogue and trade lookbooks - design, layout, pagination, and artwork
• Trade show stands and retailer point of sale
• Flyers, posters, and adverts
• Online marketing materials - website graphics, email marketing, affiliate banners
• Business cards
Photography
• Editing, resizing, retouching, and recoloring photography from an extensive library
• Working closely with the Photography team to ensure smooth delivery of joint projects and meet deadlines
Essential Skills:
• A comprehensive understanding of design and typography
• The ability to use Adobe's Creative Suite (ideally CS6) to an extremely high standard across Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
• Detailed knowledge of artworking for print, particularly in InDesign
• Experience of designing, managing and delivering a catalogue or lookbook from start to finish (ideally clothing and fashion)
• Attention to detail -ensuring that all design work is as perfect as can be and that production work is carefully executed
• Great communication skills
• Able to self-manage to tight deadlines, knowing when to prioritise
• Able to interpret briefs in a creative fashion to surpass expectation
• Able to articulate a creative vision clearly to others
• Able to reconcile a creative discipline with the ultimate goal - to represent the products and brand as well as possible.
Desirable Skills:
• Comprehensive Adobe Suite experience including Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks
• HTML capability (ideally including XHTML and HTML5)
• CSS & JavaScript
• Commercial (as well as aesthetic) understanding of what constitutes a successful website and online presence
• Degree level education
• Video filming, editing, and production experience
• Experience of managing a small team
