Vauxhall is now looking to employ experienced Electrical Engineer to continue championing our success.

The Engineering team at Vauxhall is responsible for the complete lifecycle of all equipment and facilities involved with vehicle production. This includes investment forecast for new or enhanced product requirements through to specifying, procuring, installing and validating new equipment. Ensuring equipment and facilities are maintained and operated to the correct standards contributes towards its overall effectiveness.

The production process is varied, from Stamping of panels, Body assembly & welding, Painting and Final assembly. Within their role will be the opportunity to partake in problem solving activities with the responsibility to analyse data, identify opportunities for improvement and put in place effective measures and controls to ensure performance is maintained.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be serve as the technical expert in all electrical needs of the plant including supporting production and maintenance teams when required.

Here are additional details of the role:

* Responsible for the design, operation, maintenance and safety of electrical systems and infrastructure.

* Identify and lead electrical energy reduction activities across the site.

* Process check of current energy saving activities and validation of robust implementation

* Identify requirements for Substation maintenance and implement strategy for correct upkeep

* Implement strategy for inspection of currently installed electrical distribution systems

* Conduct audit to ensure compliance to inspection routines and maintenance systems carried out to be correct standards

* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and manage analysis and risk assessment of current installed systems, plan containment and improvement projects.

* Expected to have authority for sub-station entry approval and provide support to engineering team for electrical installation requirements related to new equipment installations.

Qualifications

Are you 'Made for More'?

You'll need to be educated to at least a Degree level in Electrical Engineering. We'd also like you to have electrical engineering experience ideally in a manufacturing/production environment. If you have knowledge and experience in electrical design Installations and building processes that would be a BIG plus!
