Freelance Lead Quantity Surveyor -Water Treatment Project in Lancaster - Rate GBP320 - GBP380 per day (rate dependent on experience)
Client
My Client are a principle contracting company who undertake Civil & Infrastructure projects across the UK.
My client are involved in a wide range of heavy civil engineering projects including flood & costal defence, Utilities and Water Treatment sites.
My client has been successfully winning new projects and as a result have a new position for a Freelance Lead Quantity Surveyor to Commercially run a GBP35 million Water treatment project in Lancaster.
Duties
* Ensuring there is effective cost management of the project through regular and accurate forecasting and cost/value reporting.
* Commercially run a GBP35 million water treatment project.
* Lead and manage the procurement process to maximise profit and ensure subcontract orders are placed on time and in accordance with the company policy
* Monitor and maximise cash flow.
* Support, advise, develop and train all Commercial members of the site team.
* Be aware of the contractual requirements of the project, the form of contract is NEC3
* Advise the site team on key requirements and ensure that all notices and other matters are actioned accordingly to protect contractual position
* Act and ensure others are acting in the clients best commercial interests at all times.
* To act professionally and promote the company's best standards and practices at all times
Candidate requirements
* A strong background in Heavy civil engineering projects (essential)
(ideally water treatment but this is not essential)
* Detailed knowledge and experience using the NEC3 form of contract
* Relevant degree in either Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Management
* Ambitious and driven personality
* Self-starter able to work autonomously
* Team Leader experience, experience of managing a team of Quantity Surveyors
* Knowledge and understanding of construction management, construction and sustainable construction techniques
* Experience in NEC contracts
* Previous experience in running large heavy civil engineering projects
Rates
GBP320 - 380 depending on experience
Living away allowance if applicable
Contract length 6 - 9 months
