Senior Quantity Surveyor -Water Treatment Project in Lancaster - Rates GBP270 - GBP340 per day (rate dependent on experience)
Client
My Client are a blue chip main contractor who undertake both Heavy Civil Engineering & Infrastructure projects across the UK.
They have a requirement for a freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based in Lancaster on a GBP35 million water treatment project.
Duties
- Liaison with the Project Manager, Client, Contractor including design team
- Issue sub-contract tender packages and undertake contractual evaluation of the tender returns
- Attend post/pre tender meetings.
- Management of sub-contractors
- Take off quantities
- Site measurements
- Project cost control and project valuations
- Preparation of applications
- Management of downstream subcontractor compensation events
- Preparation and management of upstream claims
- Contract administration
- Work with the site team to develop and manage mitigation plans.
- Assess contract risk (NEC3 form of contract)
- Undertake cost to complete reviews with the contract delivery teams.
- Attend internal / external commercial review meetings.
- Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Preparation and issue of contractual letters and notices
- - Project procurement directly and via the Procurement team
- - Prepare and issue Project quotations and estimates
- - Financial forecasting and reporting
- Manage commercial performance against business targets and KPI's.
- Ensure that the delivery team are briefed and have sufficient commercial support
- Ensure that all group commercial policies are adhered to and that the requirements of legislation are met.
Candidate requirements
A strong background in Heavy civil engineering projects
Good working knowledge and experience of NEC3
Relevant degree in either Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Management
Current CSCS card holder
Good IT skills, particularly Word and Excel
Driving license
High degree of personal motivation
Presentable and articulate
Good negotiator
Commercially focused
Rates
GBP270 - GBP340 per day depending on experience
Living away allowance if applicable
Contract length 6 -9 months
