Job Title: HGV Class 2 Driver

Location: Tamworth with nationwide travel and some overnight stays

Salary: Competitive

The Role:

To successfully delivery and collect goods to and from the company's customers and suppliers in the UK. Mindful that they deliver nationwide, this may require up to 2-3 nights out per week. Act as an ambassador for the company, bearing in mind you will see their customers more often than anyone else in the business. The company always promotes clear and effective communication, so you will be expected to liaise with Customers, Sales Coordinators, Transport colleagues, and Local management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the safe loading of your vehicle at all times.
  • Checking goods prior to despatch, ensuring do damages or shortages.
  • Observing all tachograph laws relating to driving, including the correct use of tachographs and driving times/breaks.
  • Abide by all legislation surrounding transport driving.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner, and drive in a safe and courteous manner, giving consideration to other road users.
  • Performing daily checks on your vehicle. It is your responsibility to report any defects / findings to the Fleet Manager immediately.
  • Maintaining clean and tidy vehicles at all times.
  • Be prepared, on occasions, to hand-ball goods from vehicle to the customers shop or store. This may involve heavy lifting.
  • Professional, clean, tidy completion of paperwork as requested by the company, plus correct capturing of electronic POD's (E:Pods)
  • Abide by the rules, processes and procedures of the Transport department and the company.
  • Provide exceptionally high levels of professionalism, politeness and courteousness to ensure a first class delivery service.

Key Requirements:

  • Holding a clean and current class 2 licence
  • Must be up to date with your CPC requirements and modules.
  • Be able to demonstrate a very positive attitude at all times.
  • Must be flexible to meet the demands of our customers.
  • Comfortable in communicating at various levels.
  • The ability to deliver high levels of customer service to all of our customers.
